Robert Pawliczek 1986

Performer, musician, photographer, multimedia artist - Robert Pawliczek's objects and images move between concept and realization at the transitions between disciplines, for example from painting to sculpture.

Walking, movement, mapping and situation are cornerstones of Robert Pawliczek's work. It is no coincidence that one of his major series is called Touring. Drawings and sketches are created in the course of tours around the world. Collected for collages and documented like a diary, Pawliczek associatively selects what he sees on the road. In the later elaboration in his studio in Vienna or New York, he locates himself between conceptual art, color field painting, object art, Op Art, situational art and architecture-related experimental photography. What inspires him is often a return to canvas and wood. He explores the theme of painting in a variety of ways and explores new ideas.

Robert Pawliczek studied performative art and sculpture with Monica Bonvicini as well as painting in Prague with Jiří Kovanda & Vladimír Skrepl and abstract painting with Erwin Bohatsch. He completed his fine arts studies in Vienna in 2013.
