Gabi Mitterer 1967

Gabi Mitterer's paintings, drawings, and objects exist at the intersection of computer technology and art.

The artist prepares subtle color gradients and precisely placed lines on the computer and then meticulously translates them into analog works, so that the brushstroke is barely visible. Gabi Mitterer skillfully plays with optical perceptions, color contrasts, gradients, and lines, which in her works become geometrically constructive compositions and amorphous forms.

Gabi Mitterer (born 1967) studied painting under Professor Wolfgang Hutter and interdisciplinary image and spatial design under Professor Brigitte Kowanz at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. She lives and works in her studio in the Mostviertel region of Austria. In 2007, she received the Recognition Award for Fine Arts from the State of Lower Austria. Her works have been presented in numerous exhibitions both in Austria and abroad.
