Franco Kappl composes paintings that oscillate between factual flatness and optically illusionistic spatiality. His paintings are the results of an expressive-abstract setting without a concrete model. The paintings of Julia Avramidis can never be conclusively explained, there is no easy way to solve her enigmas and secrets. At the same time, this exhibition is accompanied by outstanding sculptures by her mother Annemarie Avramidis, who unfortunately died much too early, and whose work on stone is a dialogue with the "real".
