YUN WANG, who studied painting as well as classical singing, follows music in her artistic expression. Tones become drops. The paint literally floats on the canvas, you can see the rhythm. “I show my energy, my power, by letting the brush and paint dance on the canvas through my subconscious and hope that the viewer can also feel this emotion.” In her play of brushstrokes and colors, the artist hints at techniques of Asian calligraphy and influences of Chinese landscape painting.
ROBERT SCHABERL's works are iridescent paintings with the finest reflections of light and reflections. His primary theme is central forms, hypnotic circles. "I paint with light and with color. In the last 20 years, I have focused exclusively on incorporating colored light into my painting."
With extreme precision, he applies wafer-thin layers on top of each other, using interference pigments that reflect colored light like tiny prisms. The effect of his paintings changes with every change of perspective, subtle color transitions change and shimmer, opening up new spaces and depths for the viewer. A particular highlight of the exhibition are his paintings with gold leaf, another dimension in the artist's work.
