Hans Weigand, Ursula Hübner

29. Jul 2023 to 16. Sep 2023

For its second exhibition of this summer, L.art Galerie puts Ursula Hübner's series of works "The Invisible" and the collages "Vase," which were last on view at Museum Angerlehner, in dialogue with a selection of woodcuts and works on paper as well as recent paintings by Hans Weigand. Hübner's dark paintings, which mirror inner world and outer world, natural space and cultural space, point to the uncertain but tangibly close that lies behind things. In Hans Weigand's dystopian works, such as the series "Failing Surfer," his protagonists, reminiscent of comic figures and the formal language of pop culture, try to escape the end of the world. Probably in vain - failure and downfall are recurring themes in Weigand's work.
